Back in May, TikTok unveiled TikTok Symphony, a creative suite designed to assist brands in producing AI-generated ads. Now, the social media giant is expanding these tools by introducing generative AI avatars for brands and creators.
This new feature allows Symphony users to incorporate digital avatars into their creative and branded content. TikTok offers two types of avatars: “stock avatars,” which are pre-built with paid actors and licensed for commercial use, and “custom avatars,” designed to represent a creator’s likeness or a brand’s spokesperson or figurehead.
With this tool, the content appearing on your For You Page will likely feature more AI-generated elements. TikTok, like other major social media platforms, has implemented measures to label AI content, informing users when what they’re seeing is created with the help of artificial intelligence.
Andy Yang, head of creative product at TikTok, stated that the avatars will “unlock a new avenue for creators to scale their opportunities with brands globally.”
“We aim to fuel the creator economy by investing in creative solutions that spark joy, imagination, and action,” Yang added in a statement.
TikTok also announced additional features attached to Symphony, including AI-dubbing. This feature will allow creators and marketers to translate content into over 10 languages and dialects, thereby connecting with larger audiences globally. According to TikTok, the tool will automatically detect the original language in a video, then transcribe, translate, and produce a dubbed video in the selected languages offered.
